Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for the overall management of each program, ensuring all person served
needs are met in compliance with program evidentiary principles.
• Supervise House Manager, Staff and Facility Utilization Coordinator and other
professional and paraprofessional staff as needed. Conduct and/or oversee the hiring,
periodic evaluation and discipline process for all staff.
• Advocate for community services and least restrictive alternatives for all consumers.
• Ensure services are delivered to consumers according to individual program plans.
• Monitor consultant hours and services provided in multi-site settings.
• Coordinate IDT process and participate as necessary.
• Maintain documentation flow as required by funding sources. Ensure program
certification compliance.
• Complete billing information and client eligibility documentation.
• Coordinate admissions to each program.
• Coordinate in-service training as needed.
• Provide on-call assistance related to emergencies or staffing needs as scheduled.
• Monitor staff performance and residents' involvement in training program.
• Act as liaison to the consumer/advocate advisory committee.
• Develop and maintain contact with community resources and agencies to ensure
comprehensive habilitation services.
• When working in programs, will adhere to each program’s Evidentiary Principles.
• The QIDP provides habilitation management services necessary to progress towards
goals set in the service planning process and that the outcomes are measured and
considered in the development of the person’s subsequent plan.
• The QIDP collects the raw data necessary to evaluate program effectiveness, efficiency,
and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Ensures compliance with DDS requirements legally mandated by the District of
Columbia and DDS related to program participants served, and the delivery of programs
and services to them. Consequently, the QIDP must be knowledgeable about and
proficient in the application of all DDS requirements which MBI must comply.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 
• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Sociology, or a Human
Services field and three years of working with individuals that are I/DD. One year of
supervisory experience is also required.
• A Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience working with adults that are I/DD, one
of which was in a supervisory capacity, may be substituted.
• Experience with multi-site management is highly desired.
• The position requires the ability to manage a residential and in-home services program
with multiple sites. It requires experience in program development and hiring,
orientation and supervision staff.
• Experience with budget management, personnel administration, advocacy and public
relations are preferred.
• Must possess experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities
or other developmental disabilities, must satisfy all requirements to be recognized by
DDS as a QIDP, must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 
• The physical requirements described below are representative of those that must be met
by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Reasonable

• The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and
program supplies as necessary.
• The physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push,
lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance
activities, and operate office equipment.
• Move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment.
• Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
• The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally, ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the
human body.

Additional Qualifications:

 
• Valid Driver’s License
• Two (2) business references
• Ability to pass DDS Required Trainings
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Vehicle liability coverage if driving personal vehicle (on occasion, may be required to
transport clients in personal vehicle)
• May be required to drive a van
• Acceptable DOH background check, FBI Fingerprint, OIG Exclusion check
• Negative Drug/TB Screening and Health Certificate
• CPR/First Aid Certification must be acquired and maintained once employed
Work Shift:
QIDP’s work a rotating schedule consisting of day evening and weekend hours varying monthly.
