House Manager


SCOPE OF THE POSITION

The House Manager facilitates overall operational and administrative support to assigned residents,
including enhancing life skills, independent living skills and stable permanent housing in the
community. You will be responsible for performing a variety of duties, both clinical and
administrative in nature. The role is essential to ensuring that both residents and employees adhere
to the program, including the house rules, policies and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintaining confidentiality of records relating to consumer treatment.
  • Oversees the day to day operation of the group homes, ensuring adequate staff are available
    for each shift.
  • Ensures care for clients, (i.e) bathing, feeding, house keeping, active treatment, medical
    appointments, shopping, reporting all incidents to incident management coordinator.
  • Provides oversight and follow-up on group home maintenance and requirements for
    regulatory standards.
  • Provided training and support in activities of daily living and independent living skills Assist
    with household task such as food preparation and laundering clothes.
  • Provide training and support on understanding and utilizing community resources; to include
    travel training and money management, etc.
  • Provide training and assistance in the monitoring of health, nutrition and physical condition.
  • Responsible for ensuring individual’s ISPs are implemented appropriately and staff are
    documenting services provided accurately and according to company’s policies and
    procedures.
  • Orientates new individuals admitted to the residential group home. Coordinates and
    schedules physicians’ appointments for residents. Transports/Coordinates individuals to all
    appointments. Maintains documentations for all medical appointments, periodic support
    hours used.
  • Participates in monthly supervisory meetings. Communicates with case manager regarding
    changes with the individuals.
  • Takes action on all incident reports and ensures reports are completed accurately and copies
    submitted to director.
  • Supervises the Direct Care Staff to ensure the health and safety of individuals residing in the
    group home are protected at all times.
  • Oversees, continuously implement all program goals relating to the individual’s plan of care.
  • Report observations to management and/or clinical staff.
  • Coordinate transportation for community events and escort to medical appointments.
  • Complete and submit all data collection in a timely manner.

     Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and other activities, which ensure the
    smooth functioning of clinical operations.
     All this must be accomplished and provided in compliance with the District of Columbia’s
    Mental Health Standards and regulations of MBI Health Services, LLC. and all Federal,
    State and local laws applicable to this agreement.
     Other related duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Have a high school diploma or general equivalency development (GED) certificate;
  • Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and thereafter obtain CPR certification
    annually;
  • Complete Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA;
  • Meet the minimum training and qualifications of a personal care aide, as set forth in Section
    938 of Chapter 9 of Title 29 DCMR.
  • Exhibit professional appearance with consumers;
  • Demonstrate that he or she is free from communicable disease as confirmed by annual PPD
    Skin Test or documentation from a physician;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the client;
  • Able to read and write the English language;
  • Able to recognize an emergency and be knowledgeable about emergency procedures;
  • Agree to carry out the responsibilities to provide homemaker services consistent with the
    client’s IHP or ISP.
